Glasgow Homeless Protest

On Saturday the 21st of April, we organised an overnight protest in Glasgow’s George Square to highlight the ever growing homeless crisis, and raise funds for local homeless charities within the city centre. We were out on the streets for 12 hours (7pm to 7am). Through-out the night we distributed hot food and drinks, as well as essentials to the homeless in Glasgow. Leading up to this event, and on the day we managed to raise over £400 for local charities in Glasgow.

The event went as planned, and was a massive success. A lot of people walking past stopped for a conversation about the homeless situation in Glasgow, and agreed that something has to be done. As we were there for 12 hours, we invited the homeless to join us to keep them company though-out the night, and get something warm to eat and drink.

Thanks to everyone who donated, and gave up their time to make this event happen.
